Samsung Dryer bE Error Code (Display Variant)
Jammed touch key on control panel
What this error means
bE displays with capital E on many Samsung dryer panels when a capacitive key reads continuously pressed. Functionally identical to the jammed-button bE family—Samsung uses mixed casing on different firmware builds.
How BE is detected
Samsung dryer models lock the door or lid before energizing fill, heat, or high-speed spin. BE means the latch switch never sent a "locked" signal to the main control, or the lock motor did not complete its travel. On Samsung DVE45R6100W, Samsung DV50F9A6EVP, and similar variants, clothing caught in the gasket, a misaligned strike, or a failed latch assembly are the most common mechanical causes—not the board itself.
Inspect the door gasket perimeter and strike alignment before replacing the latch. Static discharge locking a touch row until power cycle is reported frequently on this code. After correcting mechanical issues, hold power three seconds, unplug one minute, restore power. If the latch clicks but BE persists, the door lock switch or wiring harness to the control board likely needs testing with a multimeter.
Do not force the door open during an active cycle; wait for the lock to release when the board de-energizes the lock motor—usually two to three minutes after canceling power on most Samsung units.
Common causes
- Static discharge locking a touch row until power cycle
- Cleaning solution trapped under the glass bezel
- Physical pressure from laundry stacked against the console
- Failed UI membrane shorting the Start key
Step-by-step fixes
- 1Hold Power three seconds, unplug one minute, restore power
- 2Press and release each control including Steam and Adjust Time edges
- 3Keep the panel dry—wring cloths before wiping
- 4Clear the top surface so nothing presses keys during vibration
When to call a technician
Capital bE at idle on a dry panel needs touch panel assembly DG34-series replacement per model lookup.
Affected models
- Samsung DVE45R6100W
- Samsung DV50F9A6EVP
- Samsung DVE50R5400V
Prevention & maintenance
- Wipe the door gasket weekly and avoid overloading items against the seal—BE often starts as a slow leak or latch misalignment.
- Record when BE appears in the cycle and whether it clears after a 60-second power reset on your Samsung dryer—that detail speeds diagnosis if you call service.
- Keep the model and serial number from the rating plate when ordering parts for BE; Samsung uses multiple revisions with different harness lengths and board firmware.
- Photograph wiring connector orientation before disconnecting any component while troubleshooting BE; reversed plugs on pumps and valves cause immediate repeat faults.
