Hot water inlet NTC temperature fault
What this error means
EF5 means the hot water inlet thermistor read out of range. Temperature-controlled fills on Electrolux-built Frigidaire washers cannot proceed without valid hot-side feedback.
Common causes
- Thermistor disconnected at the mixing valve
- Scale buildup insulating the sensor bulb
- Open thermistor element
- Control not reading sensor after valve replacement
Step-by-step fixes
- 1Unplug and access the inlet valve on the rear panel
- 2Reseat the two-wire thermistor connector
- 3Measure resistance against the Electrolux chart at room temp
- 4Run warm fill after verifying hot supply at the tap
