What this error means

F09 reports an overflow condition on Whirlpool Duet front-load washers. The pressure switch sees tub water above the safe fill level. The drain pump may run continuously trying to lower the level while the cycle is halted.

Common causes

  • Inlet valve stuck open and filling when the washer is off
  • Pressure switch air dome hose disconnected or cracked
  • Drain pump unable to remove water during a fill phase
  • Main control board relay welded on the water valve circuit
